I am a wife and mother of four boys and grew up in northern Colorado with three brothers. I started working in the title insurance industry in 1995, went on to do real estate closings, and then managed a law practice. Now I help people buy and sell homes and it’s my favorite job! What do you think is the most important trait to look for in a Realtor? Definitely good communication skills. Unanswered calls and texts are inexcusable. The home buying and selling process is a big deal, it’s usually the biggest investment we make in our lives and I think we, as agents, can alleviate a lot of the stress and anxiety involved by providing regular updates and always being able and willing to answer questions and give direction. I think it’s really important for home buyers and sellers to work with someone that they trust and can effectively communicate with. What is your favorite part of your job? There are many parts that I enjoy but I guess if I had to choose, I would say it’s a tie between 1.) Getting to tell my client that we have a great offer (if selling) or getting to tell them that our offer has been accepted (if buying) and 2.) Receiving a note in the mail from one of the patients at Children’s Hospital. I donate a portion of every commission and always receive a little card or note. They are heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. What do you do for fun? I love hanging out with my husband, sons and 3 dogs. Some of our favorite things to do are riding bikes on the Spring Creek Trail, playing board games (Munchkin is really fun) and enjoying all the yummy Fort Collins food! I also really enjoy helping out at the school my kids attend, whether it’s being a part of reading time or running the Book Fair, and I have been lucky enough to chaperone Eco Week for the last 3 years.
