Private Realty was founded in 1988 by broker Les Gebhardt, based on the concept of a discounted commission. In 1993 David Powell left a large corporate Real Estate company to join Les at Private Realty.

Over the next few years, with just two salespeople, Private Realty became one of the highest producing independent real estate companies in Winnipeg.

David Powell has been awarded from Winnipeg Real Estate Board consecutively since 1994 for being among the top 3% of salespersons throughout the city each year. In 1997 Les retired and David took over the brokerage while maintaining both the high level of service and the low commission rate. Recognizing the high demand for these services, Powell eventually recruited additional sales associates to expand the company.

In January 2001 Powell changed the company name to Powell Property Group. It became quite necessary to absolve any confusion in the minds of the public that the company was not in any way associated with the private sale organizations that have come & gone in the city in recent years.

Powell Property Group strives to maintain and surpass our history of client satisfaction. Our realtors work independently and deal with their clients on a personal basis. All meetings, showings, Open Houses, market reports and dialogue are performed by the realtor that you hire. Your Powell Property Group Realtor will handle every aspect of your Real Estate transaction from writing up the listing form, showing your home, presenting all offers to ordering your SOLD sign! There is an amazing amount of information passed back and forth between the client and her or his Real Estate Realtor. Our mission

Powell Property Group has much pride in our level of communication with our clients. All realtors have direct lines open for our clients at any time. Current with today’s technology through email, cell phones, and faxes, it is virtually impossible to not stay in touch with our clients. And of course, we still believe in the old philosophy of meeting with our clients face to face.

Powell Property Group is a member of the WinnipegRealtors Association, Manitoba Real Estate Association, Canadian Real Estate Association and The Independent Real Estate Brokers of Manitoba (IRBM). Most importantly, we are a part of the Multiple Listing Service. We have excellent cooperation with Realtors from all of the other Real Estate companies because we reduce only our share of the commission.
